LEWIS LEADS 1-2 AFTER RED BULLS-UP

Well we've gotten used to having the Turkish Grand Prix on the schedule now and Turn 8 has taken it's place amongst F1's legendary corners. Yet it's still seen as very Mickey Mouse to some of the traditionalists and Bernie has recently complained about how little local marketing it gets. Yet it's not going away any time soon and has had it's interesting moments. Coming into the race the RedBulls still looked very much like the team to beat. However it was the McLarens that were burning up the road in the practice sessions with an improved package that would hopefully allow them to compete for a win this time around.

And so onwards with qualifying. The Brits had no serious issues in Q1 as once again the new teams were given yet another reality check with Trulli the best of that bunch in P19. Q2 also proved to be pretty smooth for my guys and that was more than could be said for Alonso who couldn't get his Ferrari working properly and wound up P12. Well Kubica was the first guy to set a time but that wasn't anything Lewis couldn't handle only for Webber to beat the lot of them and grab his third pole in a row! Lewis slotted in P2 in what was his best qualifying session of the season so far. Further down, Jenson grabbed his second P4 of the season.

Well Jenson initially had issues with Schumacher and dealt with the former legend easilly enough and after that, was able to stay in 4th and within range of the leadership battle. It looked like he wasn't going to get much more than that with the Red Bulls seemingly invincible...untill Vettel slammed into Webber and took both he and his teammate off track! That allowed a whole load of points to fall into Jenson's lap and though he did duel for the lead late on, he wound up settling for 2nd. Certainly a solid performance and one that says the reigning world champion isn't going to give up his title without one hell of a fight and I look forward to seeing what happened.

Initially, Lewis got taken by Vettel and wound up in 3rd only for him to retake 2nd and sniff for the lead...untill a pit stop went wrong and we round up down in 3rd again! Ahead of him were the invincible Red Bulls but Lewis was never too far away...and when they came together Lewis leapt right up into the lead and I couldn't help but laugh at the situation! After that the McLaren team ordered both their guys to save fuel but still Lewis and Jenson wound up rumbling with each other. Lewis won the duel and more importantly, the pair were smart enough not to take each other off. That meant that we were treated to the awesome sight of Lewis's first win of the year and Jenson backing his up for the 1st 1-2 of the season. Never let it be said that F1 is dull.

So, after that the championship looks like this. Webber still leads with 93 points. Jenson up to 2nd on 88 points. Further down, Lewis is up to 3rd on 84 points.

So, what else does this season have to offer?
