USELESS!

Well we'd already faced City at the City of Manchester Stadium and Sven's men made morons out of us. Well that was back at the start of the season when we couldn't buy a win! Since then we've led the Premiership for a while and now the Blues were at Old Trafford where we were expected to get a degree of payback. Plain shirts were the order of the day in honour of the Busby Babes. United played with O'Shea at left back, Anderson and Scholes centre mid, Nani right mid and Tevez and Ronaldo up front.
Well United were the side that started off on the attack and we ran the early stages of the game but that was really as good as it got. Once City got on to the attack it was their show and the United dam broke in the 25th minute when Darius Vassell picked up a loose ball and stuck it in on the second attempt. United looked to respond but the City goalie kept getting in the way and it was City's turn again, and they went 2-0 up when Martin Petrov found Benjani Mwaruari in the 45th minute. Now we needed a comeback.
Well City did have the opening attack of the second half but United were soon looking to start their comeback but though we did hit the net it was ruled offside. City then replied and after that it seemed that there was no fight whatsoever in the Reds. City were on cruise mode in what for them is the ultimate enemy territory and we seemingly couldn't do anything about it. We did have one last attacking spell though but with time running out the best we could do was when Scholsey set up sub Carrick who pulled one back in injury time. That was what we'd needed 20 minutes earlier, what we got was the worst performance of the season.
Elsewhere, Arsenal beat Blackburn 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium with the Gunners scoring a one goal at the very start of the match and one at the very end. Chelsea drew 0-0 with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, the Scousers having the more chances but it generally turned out to be a prettydull affair. That leaves United still in second place in the Premiership, now five points behind leaders Arsenal and only three points ahead of thirds place Chelsea and a detor through the Champions League preliminaries next season.
North of the border, Aberdeen faced Celtic at Pittodrie in the SPL. Well Shunsuke Nakamura opened the scoring for the Celts and Aidan McCready got their second before Scott McDonald slotted in a penalty before getting a second goal after half time to make it 4-0! Miller pulled one back for the Dons but by then it really was too little too late and the Celts still had the last word - Barry Robson getting their fifth. Not good preparation for either the Dons upcoming UEFA Cup clash with Bayern Munich of the Scottish Cup rematch with the Celts.
Elsewhere, Motherwell were beaten 2-1 by Dundee at Fir Park in a match that was goalless at half time and setted by Dundee in the early stages of the second half. Falkirk were beaten 2-0 by Rangers at Ibrox with the Gers hitting the net either side of half time to give them a 16 game unbeaten run. That leaves Aberdeen still fifth place in the SPL, five points behind MOtherwell and the UEFA Cup spots while just one point ahead of Falkirk and the bottom half of the table.
