WHO IS RICK FRANCIS?

Born in London on 15th June 1980, Rick Francis has an official day job/career as an IT analyst but he still gets called on to do some espionage work on a regular basis.

His first undercover job happened on the spur of the moment when during the summer of 2000, his best friend Steve Adams got framed for hooliganism while in Belgium for the 2000 European Football Championships. With the authorities offering no help whatsoever, Rick infiltrated the group that had set Steve up - the Anti Hooligan Alliance - leading to the jailing of its head, Reg Porter, in the process.

Thinking that this experience was a one off, Rick continued with his University studies the following year only to get himself involved with an SGC investigation into Shutech, the company he was working for that summer. His help during that incident led to him getting recruited by the Tok'ra who he work for for the best part of a year before returning to Earth.

Just after finishing Uni however, Rick found that there were those who knew about his actions against the AHA and wanting his help in dealing with problems of their own. As a result he sometimes works as an officially untrained (having turned down a recruitment offer from British Government intelligence services) freelance vigilante/mercenary/spy who has recently gained the nickname of the 'Fireshadow'.

On the personal scene he's just gotten together with old school crush Aaliah Khan and tends to chill with a few beers with friends or watching football or films.

Rick can be summed up as being multilingual, technically skilled, instinctive and greatly loyal once he's gotten to trust you and combining the smoothness of a conman with the attitude of a bulldozer when on an op.

Footnote: As things stand, there are two versions of Rick currently in existence. One is continuing with 'Fireshadow' work while the other is offworld as the member of the crew of a ship known as 'Thunk'. Thunk is an online virtual TV series that I got Rick involved in ages back but has yet to really get off the ground so the guy running Thunk has allowed me to operate two versions of Rick in order to free up my writing of the character.
